Rocco Arigo, a six month old English Bulldog, loves to play, sleep and eat a multitude of things that he shouldn't. Rocco was presented to us on September 30, 2010 for vomiting. Rocco had chewed and swallowed his Nobbly Wobbly Ball. He was no longer able to hold food down. A digital x-ray showed the entire ball in his stomach except for the few pieces he threw up. We scheduled surgery for Monday hoping to avoid it if he threw all of it up. Rocco proceeded to throw up pieces of the toy and pass some in his stool. Ten days later he still had at least one piece that hadn't left his stomach. We had to take him to surgery and removed two large pieces and a cap from the patio. His surgery was successful and recovery went great.
Does he look like he's learned a lesson? Remember he's a bulldog! We considered putting in a zipper instead of stitches since Rocco will probably still eat anything not nailed down.
